Art Centre of Bali Province is a masterpiece work of Balinese architect of this twentieth century. All buildings refer to the Balinese architecture along with its requirements, so when entering to this location, you will fell the traditional aura of Bali. Art Centre was founded on the idea of Prof.Dr.Ida Bagus Mantra. It means to conserve the Balinese art and culture. Next stop is Museum Bali located on the eastern side of the Lapangan Puputan Badung, a memorial park at the end of Gajah Mada Street, Denpasar.
The museum contains a collection of Balinese artifacts dating back to prehistoric time up till the 20th century. Ancient masks, tools, woodcarvings, jewelry, Neolithic stone implements, megalithic coffins, agricultural tools, even cages for fighting crickets can be found on display in its four separate buildings.
The architectural design is a combination between two Balinese structures, the temple and the palace. The history of the museum started back in 1910, initiated by W.F.J.Kroon, a Dutch resident in Bali at the time. Not until December 8th, 1932, did the official opening of the museum take place. Because of its rapid development, on January 5th, 1966 the Bali Museum was transferred to the highest foundation coordinating all national museums.
Our tour will proceed to visit Bajra Sandhi monumen which is common called Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Bali located in the area of civic center Renon, Denpasar Bali. The monument was established in 1987 to honor the struggle of the people of Bali and distribute creative arts community. The monumen was inaugurated on June 14 2003 by President Megawati Soekarno Putri. Inside of this memorial, simpler travel history of Bali clearly envisaged through 33 units dioramas. Diorama-diorama is prepared following the contours around the room. Each diorama contains statues complete with environment. To facilitate visitors in understanding the contents of the diorama, there are on the outside of the label information in three languages: English characters in Java, Bali Ancient, English, and English.
Last stop will be at Denpasar traditional market of Pasar Badung and Pasar Kumbasari. Pasar mean market. Both of the markets have 4 storey and open 24 hours in the day time the market open in main building, in the base and second floor for vegetables, fruits, meat and daily food seller, third and fourth floor for textile and temple procession equipment. Late evening till early morning the market open in the parking area.
