27 April 2009It appears that the Tanah Lot temple and tourist attraction, which has been described as one of the popular tourist attraction around the globe, is no exaggeration, according to a recent survey. Aside from the panoramic sunset view and magnificent temple in the sea, it is also supported by the management touch, area arrangement and amicable service extended taking sides to customers. However, having conducted a customer survey to visitors calling by Tanah Lot, in fact the historical factor made them visit Tanah Lot.
I Made Sujana, Operation Manager of Tanah Lot Authority said that tourists were given an opportunity to asses the destination, what needs improving and what factor made them decide a tour to Tanah Lot. The survey undertaken at the beginning of 2009 was intended to become an evaluation towards the professional management and control. In this matter, his party distributed thirteen factors influencing both domestic and foreign tourist to visits Tanah Lot. “Having disseminated questionnaire to 155 perception samples and 215 factor samples, the results indicated that dominant factors playing important role on the tourist visit to Tanah Lot are historical value, uniqueness of the temple, promotion and sunset view,” he said.
Indeed, the tourist object and attraction whose management involves three elements (government, private sector and customary village) all the times performs self-improvement by orientating to customers without exploiting the cultural and environmental values. As a responsible party in managing the object, he did not only orientate to target of obtaining money, yet how to establish a good image for the years to come. “Every year we also organize different event so that there is always something new at Tanah Lot,” he said.
Sujana added that the result was sufficiently made proud. Every year the number of tourist visit to Tanah Lot, both of domestic and foreign, keeps on increasing. He then said that based on the data of Bali Government Tourism Office, in 2008 there was mentioned some most-visited objects measured by the number of visit within the past five years namely Tanah Lot, Bedugul Botanical Garden, Penelokan Batur, Bedugul, Alas Kedaton, Ulundanu and Lake Beratan, Tirta Empul, Taman Ayun and Sangeh. “Due to good image management, cultural preservation and shored up by cultural events for the past eight years (2000-2008). It shows an average increase of 15% per year,” he said proudly.
