Benoa Harbor in Bali Island Upgrades Cruise Facilities
11 July 2017State-owned harbor management company PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III Benoa is upgrading its facilities to accommodate the arrival of luxury liners to its premise in Benoa, Bali Island.
The company's general manager, told journalists that after he attended a sales mission in Miami, Florida, in early March, Indonesia had become a world cruise destination. Benoa Harbor is the only port in Bali Island, Indonesia that was developed as a major cruise port or tourism hub seaport.

Benoa Harbor employed a turn-around-port scheme while receiving large-scale cruises such as the Seven Seas Voyager and the Seaborn Odyssey in December 2012. PT Pelindo III is currently constructing a 450-meter diameter turning basin with a 12-meter depth to facilitate the ship's docking process. The company also improved docking facilities at a cost of around Rp 90 billion (US$9.2 million).
In 2013, Benoa Harbor targeted to invite 38 large-scale cruises bringing around 35,000 passengers onto the island. Bail Tourism Agency said that one passenger usually spent around US$100 a day in Bali.
Benoa Harbor is located in the southern part of Bali Island, about 10 km from Denpasar city or about 25 minutes drive from Denpasar Airport, Bali.
